Why does it seem like French people don't appreciate you speaking French?

I just noticed this, I'm 15 and I speak English fluently and I speak both French and German aswell but I always feel more awkward speaking French because I feel like they're going to laugh at me if I make a mistake and that if I do try to speak French they don't seem to appreciate it the same way Germans do, like when I speak German they're always like "You learn German in school?" or they say that I speak really good German and stuff. I don't really understand why this is, and have other people noticed it aswell or is it just me? :/
